Blackheads, How to treat them?
Before knowing how to treat blackheads, it is important to know what they are and why they occur.
Blackheads can appear on the forehead, nose, cheeks, and anywhere on the face. They are a mixture of sebum and dead cells that accumulate in the pores and when exposed to air, they oxidize, which is why they turn black. Blackheads are also called open comedones and can be part of an acne condition or as a result of having oily or combination skin. Some people are predisposed to having them and they can fluctuate with hormonal, environmental, and temperature changes, among others.
